After England defeated Ukraine 2-0, an image of Bukayo Saka leaving Mykhailo Mudryk on the ground went viral on social media. Arsenal fans were pleased to see Saka leave the player who was once their top target during the transfer window. Mudryk ultimately ended up joining Chelsea but has yet to find his footing with the club. He has gone six Premier League games without scoring a goal and appeared to lack confidence during his substitution after playing against England.
With Chelsea's recent acquisition of new players, including Mudryk for $100m, it is important that he does not remain on the sidelines. Potter's current front three consists of Joao Felix, Kai Havertz, and possibly Christian Pulisic over Mudryk. The question then arises: what is Chelsea's plan for the Ukrainian winger, and how will he fit into Potter's team?
According to Potter, it is important for players to play in order to improve, but sometimes they need training time or a break. Chelsea remains positive about Mudryk's future with the club, even though he has had a difficult start adapting to a new country, club, and league. In theory, Mudryk could perform well on the left side of Chelsea's frontline due to his pace and direct running, which would prevent the team from becoming too congested in the center of the pitch. However, Chelsea undoubtedly expected more from their new signing and his performances in a blue shirt have been lackluster. While Arsenal is moving forward in the Premier League, Mudryk is struggling to find his place on the Chelsea team.
